Privacy notice

Botlands is a Minecraft server, this website, a Discord bot and a stream. You do not need an email address or an account with us to play. We keep only what those need to run. Questions or requests: hello@botlands.org.

What we store, and why

what why kept

Your Minecraft name and account ID (Java UUID, or Floodgate UUID for Bedrock) To let you play, keep your bot tied to your account, and show your name and bot While you play here, until you ask us to delete it

Game data: the world, your bot's brain and settings, play time, fight stats, kill-cam clips The game itself, your bot page, clips and the stream Same as above. The world is never reset, so what you built stays in it

Chat messages and IP addresses in server logs To deal with crashes, attacks and abuse of the server Only as long as needed for that

Your Discord user ID, if you link your Discord account with /link To give you the right Discord roles Until you unlink or ask us to delete it

Purchase and donation records from Tebex (Minecraft name and account ID, package, amount, transaction ID, status, and a keyed hash of your email so you can look up your purchases; never the email itself or card details) To give you what you bought, show the Server Fund, and keep accounts As long as tax and accounting rules require

Website sign-in: a session tied to your account ID To keep you signed in 30 days, or until you sign out

Your TikTok connection, if you use Share to TikTok (see below) To post the clips you choose to your TikTok account Until you disconnect, or at most a year

We never store passwords. Minecraft, Xbox and Discord handle your logins; we only see the account ID they send.

Backups of the server are kept for a limited time: daily copies for 14 days, weekly copies for 9 weeks, monthly copies for about 13 months.

Share to TikTok

On your bot page you can share clips your bot is in to your own TikTok account. It is optional and off until you connect.

What you allow: when you connect, TikTok asks you to allow Botlands to read your basic profile (user.info.basic) and to upload and publish videos you choose (video.upload, video.publish).
What we store: your TikTok open ID, your TikTok username, and the access and refresh tokens TikTok gives us, stored encrypted and tied to your Minecraft account ID. For each post you make: the TikTok publish ID, which clip, the privacy you picked and the post status. We never see or store your TikTok password.
What we show: your TikTok nickname and avatar on the Share to TikTok page, only to you, loaded fresh from TikTok each time. We do not publish your TikTok account on the site.
What we post: only the clip you picked, with the caption, privacy and settings you chose, and only when you press Post. Nothing is ever posted automatically.
How long: the connection stays until you disconnect, or until TikTok's sign-in runs out (at most a year), and then it is deleted. Post records are deleted after 90 days.
Disconnect any time: press Disconnect TikTok on your bot page or on the Share to TikTok page. We revoke the access at TikTok and delete the tokens right away. You can also remove Botlands under Manage app permissions in the TikTok app; we then delete the connection the next time it fails.

Videos you post are on TikTok under TikTok's own terms and privacy policy; deleting them is done in TikTok.

What is public

Usernames, bot stats and kill-cam clips are shown on this site, in the Discord and on the stream. Clips never show coordinates. IP addresses, chat logs, Discord IDs and purchase details are never published.

Cookies

Only for signing in: one cookie while you wait for your sign-in code (10 minutes), one that keeps you signed in (30 days), and one while you connect TikTok (10 minutes). No ads, no tracking cookies, no analytics scripts.

Who else handles data

Cloudflare hosts this website and keeps standard request logs for security.
Tebex (Tebex Limited) runs the store and takes every shop payment. It is the merchant of record and handles billing, receipts, refunds and card details. We never see card details.
Discord runs the Discord server and our Discord bot.
Twitch and YouTube host the stream, which shows in-game names and fights.
TikTok receives the clips you share to your own TikTok account, and handles your TikTok sign-in.

Each has its own privacy policy. We do not sell data or share it with advertisers.

Players of all ages

We do not ask for your real name, email or age to play, and we do not knowingly collect more than the game account data above. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child's data at hello@botlands.org.

Getting your data deleted

Email hello@botlands.org from any address with your Minecraft name, and we delete your bot, your bot page, your clips, your sign-in sessions, your Discord link and your TikTok connection. Purchase records we must keep for accounting stay, but are never shown. Things you built in the world stay in the world.
